Nicosia, Cyprus. The Sweetopia Chocolate & Candy Fun festival is scheduled to run from January 30 to February 1 at the Melina Mercouri Cultural Centre, offering demonstrations, masterclasses, workshops and themed installations. Tickets include access to demonstrations, masterclasses, installations and photo spots, with €1 from each ticket donated to the Ronald McDonald House.
Three-day festival programme
Organised by Inspired Family Fun, which is marking its 10th anniversary of family-oriented festivals and activities across Cyprus, the event is set to take place over three days. The programme includes chocolate-making workshops, tastings and candy-themed installations aimed at visitors of all ages.
Demonstrations and masterclasses
Live demonstrations and masterclasses will be held in the venue’s theatre with the participation of the Cyprus Chefs Association and other chocolate experts. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the history and journey of chocolate, learn about its production and taste different varieties.
Installations and children’s activities
The festival will feature installations inspired by caramel and chocolate, including a colourful hot-air balloon, a swing among candy floss clouds, a sweet planetarium and a marshmallow pool. Children’s activities include creative workshops focused on chocolate, cookies and doughnuts, and the event will also include a chocolate fountain and a sweet market by La Galerie Patisserie.
Tickets, additional activities and schedule
Tickets are priced at €8 for adults and €6 for children under 12, and include participation in demonstrations, masterclasses, installations and photo spots. Additional token-based activities include the chocolate fountain, chocolate, cookie and doughnut workshops, and the purchase of chocolate and sweets. The festival will run from 10am to 8pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
