Nicosia, Cyprus. Ten people were arrested during targeted police operations carried out across the country on Sunday night, with offences including drug possession, robbery, stabbing and traffic violations. Police said the arrests formed part of preventive policing operations aimed at crime prevention and public safety.

Vehicle stops and screenings
According to a police statement issued on Monday, officers stopped 580 vehicles for inspection, while 744 drivers and passengers were screened.
Premises inspections
Authorities carried out 48 inspections at premises, leading to three complaints.
Traffic enforcement and alcohol tests
Police issued 446 complaints for various traffic offences, including 212 for speeding violations. Officers also conducted 133 alcohol tests, with two individuals returning positive results.
Vehicle impoundments
As part of the wider operation, 19 vehicles were impounded for further examination.
