Nicosia, Cyprus. Ten students achieved perfect scores in the Pancyprian exams, while 3,113 students secured places at universities in Cyprus and Greek military academies, Education Minister Athena Michaelidou announced on Wednesday.
The perfect scores of 20 were recorded among 4,969 candidates who sat the examinations.
University placements
Of the 3,113 placements offered, 1,590 students were admitted to the University of Cyprus and 1,382 to the Cyprus University of Technology (Tepak). A further 141 students secured places at Greek military academies.
The total includes graduates of lyceums across the island, as well as students from technical and evening schools.
Admissions to Greece
Examination Service head Socrates Mylonas said the general ranking score for each candidate applying to public universities in Greece would be announced in the coming days.
The Greek Ministry of Education is expected to allocate places at Greek public universities in August.
Military service and enrolment
Mylonas said male candidates admitted to public universities in Cyprus who cannot begin studies in the upcoming academic year because they are serving in the army must reserve their place for the following year.
