The families of the victims, who died in the largest airplane crash in Cyprus will receive financial help.

The aircraft of the Helios Airways, which was en route Larnaca – Athens – Prague, has crashed 40 km North of Athens on the 14th of August 2005. There were 121 people on board and 103 of those were citizens of Cyprus.

In 2013, due to financial crisis, many families ended up in a very difficult economic situation. However only now the government decided to pay to 32 families the amount of 3 million Euros.

This amount was divided in 5 equal shares, which will be paid out every year.
