The new patrol ship turned out to be too big

Порт Ларнаки

The modified patrol ship, which was gifted to Cyprus by sultan of Omman in 2014 arrived to the port in Larnaca. However, it did not manage to sail off to the military base “Evangelos Florakis” in Mari. The ship is 61 metres long and 10,5 metres wide, so it is too big for the mooring there because the hull sticks out for another 4 metres.

The ship is escorted by the officers of the Omman Royal Navy, who arrived to Cyprus to teach the Cypriots about the details of the ship’s operation.

The armed patrol boat is set to patrol the territorial waters of Cyprus.
