The number of Russian tourists, who are traveling abroad has decreased by 20% during the first 10 months of 2016. According to the Vice President of the Russian Union of Tourist industry Mr. Yuriy Barzykin, the decrease in the number of people leaving the country is a tendency for the last 3 years.
“Of course there were successes on particular destinations in the Mediterranean- Cyprus, Greece, Spain. However the numbers overall have dropped significantly” – Mr. Barzykin confirms.
His words are backed by statistical data for the tours purchased for Christmas and New Year celebration periods. Even stabilisation of the exchange rate and loyalty of the receiving countries did not improve the situation.
