The assassination of Russian Ambassador to Turkey was done on the 19 of December. Hew was murdered by several shot in the back. The event has be classified as terrorist attack. the Russian authorities initiated criminal proceedings under par.361 of Criminal Code of Russia: “Act of international terrorism”.
Stanislav Osadchiy called the assassination of Andrei Karlov as barbarian and expressed his condolences to his family and relatives. He also warned about possible international consequences.
In turn, the Cyprus government offered to improve security measures in the Embassy of Russian Federation in Cyprus.
