Traffic checks lead to 121 complaints and three arrests, police say

Nicosia, Cyprus. Police said wide-scale traffic checks on Thursday night resulted in 121 traffic complaints, including three arrests for drink driving and speeding.

Results of the operation

Police said a total of 311 traffic checks were carried out. Officers also inspected 14 premises as part of efforts to combat delinquency.

Speeding and vehicle confiscations

Of the 121 reports filed, 69 were for speeding, police said. Five vehicles were confiscated.

Purpose of the checks

Police said the checks were part of a coordinated operation aimed at preventing crime and ensuring public order.
