New York, United States. U.S. President Donald Trump will attend the World Cup final between Argentina and Spain at the New York-New Jersey stadium on Sunday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.
Leavitt also said Trump will attend a FIFA reception at Trump Tower in New York City on Friday.
Final attendance
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Leavitt said Trump was looking forward to attending the final match.
“His attendance will cap what has been the most watched, most secure, and most successful World Cup in American history,” she said.
FIFA reception
Leavitt said Trump will attend a FIFA reception at Trump Tower on Friday.
She said she did not know whether the president had a preferred team in the Argentina-Spain final and suggested reporters ask him directly.
