Nicosia, Cyprus. A 38-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were remanded in custody for eight days on Wednesday in connection with the stabbing of a 30-year-old man.
The victim was found with an abdominal wound after an assault in the early hours of Tuesday and remains in hospital, although his condition is no longer considered life-threatening.
Investigation
The Nicosia district court issued the detention orders to facilitate police investigations into the attack.
The 38-year-old man is being investigated in connection with the stabbing, while the 34-year-old woman faces allegations of aiding and abetting a felony.
Victim’s condition
The victim was found in an area of Nicosia at around 4am on Tuesday. He was taken to Nicosia general hospital for treatment.
Doctors said his condition is no longer life-threatening.
Arrests
Both suspects were arrested under court warrants and appeared before the Nicosia district court on Wednesday.
