Paralimni, Cyprus. Two workers were seriously injured after falling from scaffolding about two metres high at a construction site in Paralimni, police said on Friday.
Incident and injuries
Police said the incident occurred at noon on Thursday when the scaffolding gave way, causing the 64-year-old and 56-year-old to fall to the ground. Both suffered serious head injuries and multiple fractures.
Hospital treatment
Police said the 64-year-old was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital’s neurosurgery department. The 56-year-old was admitted for further treatment in the intensive care unit of Famagusta General Hospital.
Investigation
Police said the circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
