Nicosia, Cyprus. Rain, strong winds and colder conditions are affecting much of Cyprus, with unsettled weather expected to continue through Sunday and into the coming days, according to the met office.
Sunday forecast
Sunday will be mainly cloudy, with periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms across the island. Snow is expected on the higher peaks of Troodos, while light dust in the atmosphere during the morning is expected to clear by midday.
Temperatures
Temperatures will reach about 18°C in Nicosia, Paphos, Limassol, and Kyrenia, rising to around 21°C in Famagusta and Larnaca areas. In the mountains, temperatures will remain much lower, near 10°C.
Overnight conditions
Cloud and unsettled conditions will continue into the night, with isolated rain expected mainly in Paphos and Kyrenia. Temperatures will fall to around 11°C in Nicosia and on the coast, and to about 4°C in Troodos, where frost is expected.
Outlook for the week
Unsettled weather will persist into the start of the week. On Monday and Tuesday, there will be intervals of cloud with a chance of isolated showers. By Wednesday, cloud cover is expected to increase again, bringing further rain and possible storms.
