Nicosia, Cyprus. Valentine’s Day weekend in Cyprus is set to feature a range of events, from live music and open-mic performances to stargazing, film screenings and a drag show.
Live music night at Sarah’s Jazz & Blues Club
A romantic live music night titled Each day is Valentine’s Day will take place with Eleonora Roussou at Sarah’s Jazz & Blues Club in Nicosia. The programme will include swing, bossa nova, soul and pop love songs from around the world. Roussou will perform on vocals, flute and melodica, joined by guitarist Alexis Kasinos, bassist Rodrigo Caceres and drummer Rodos Panagiotou. The event is scheduled for February 14. Tel: 95-147711.
Valentine’s Day open mic on Saturday
A Valentine’s Day Open Mic will be held on Saturday, presented by Yfantourgeio TheWorkplace and Collective Beat. Starting at 8pm, the event will welcome comedians, singers, musicians, poets and other performers to share a piece, whether love-themed or not.
Wine tasting and stargazing at Troodos Observatory
Troodos Observatory will host Valentine’s with Wine on Saturday, combining wine tasting, gourmet bites and stargazing. The event is described as an opportunity for couples to enjoy the night sky as part of a romantic getaway.
Cinema programme at Ayia Napa Marina
Ayia Napa Marina, in collaboration with Starlit Screens, will host Cinema Rendez-vous – Love on Screen on Saturday and Sunday, featuring films focused on different expressions of love and suitable for all ages. Easy A will screen at 7pm on Saturday for friends and singles, followed by Palm Springs at 9pm for couples. On Sunday, Lady and the Tramp will screen at 5pm for families.
Moviegoers will be welcomed with a glass of wine and chocolates, and the €12 ticket includes popcorn and water. Munch Diner will be available on site, with food ordering offered at the screening area with a special discount.
Drag show in Nicosia on Sunday night
A drag show titled Valentine’s is Over will take place on Sunday night at Patio Cocktail Bar in Nicosia. The event will feature performances by Lynn Dynasty and Phnx, with Mr Panaman on the decks and Alectrona presenting.
