Madrid, Spain. The head of the World Health Organisation said there was no indication of the onset of a broader hantavirus outbreak, though he did not rule out further cases.
WHO assessment
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters that there was no sign of the start of a larger outbreak. He said the situation could change and, given the virus’s long incubation period, more cases could be seen in the coming weeks.
Remarks in Madrid
Tedros made the comments while speaking alongside Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez in Madrid.
