Sotira, Cyprus. Police said a 19-year-old woman was killed and three other young people were injured in a car crash early Wednesday in the Limassol village of Sotira. The collision happened at about 1.30am on Ayia Thekla avenue.
Crash details
Police said the vehicle was driven by a 19-year-old man, with a 20-year-old front-seat passenger and two 19-year-old women in the rear. Under circumstances still under investigation, the car swerved off the road and collided with a concrete tank wall.
Casualties and hospital transfers
The 19-year-old rear passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, and police identified her as a resident of Sotira. The driver and the front-seat passenger were taken to Famagusta general hospital and later transferred to Larnaca general hospital for further medical examinations.
Investigation
Police said the second 19-year-old rear passenger, described as being in critical condition, was transferred to Nicosia general hospital, where she remains under treatment. Famagusta police are continuing investigations into the circumstances of the collision.
