Limassol, Cyprus. YoungShip Cyprus hosted its Young Leader Award Ceremony during the ‘Melodies Across the Sea’ event in February 2026 at Limassol New Port, bringing together maritime community members, industry figures and young professionals.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Young Leader Award, reserved for individuals who inspire young professionals and consistently champion the mission of YoungShip Cyprus.
The award was officially presented by Andreas Christoforou, chairman of YoungShip Cyprus, during the Young Leader Award Ceremony Soiree at the Limassol Cruise Terminal.
In his opening remarks, Christoforou emphasised the critical importance of mentorship, saying young leaders play an essential role in shaping a sustainable and forward-looking maritime industry.
2026 award recipient
The 2026 Young Leader Award was presented to Theodoros Mitsingas, General Manager Mediterranean at Monjasa.
Since joining the global oil and shipping group in 2013, YoungShip Cyprus said Mitsingas has been a pivotal force in building the company’s regional footprint from the ground up.
It cited his role in establishing Monjasa in Limassol in 2017 and expanding to Athens in 2021.
Monjasa’s regional growth and board motivation
Monjasa said it now has around 25 colleagues working in the Mediterranean region, up from an initial team of two.
As part of its motivation, the YoungShip Cyprus Board described Mitsingas as “a natural leader and role model for younger professionals,” adding that he “bridges the gap between experienced industry figures and the new generation, inspiring others through hard work, consistency and a forward-looking mindset.”
The company also said that “Theodoros has been leading developments from the front since day one.”
