Limassol, Cyprus. A 21-year-old man died on Monday night after sustaining critical injuries in a traffic accident in Limassol last week. Police said investigations into the collision are ongoing.

Victim identified

Police said on Tuesday that Angelos Kombos, from Limassol, had been hospitalised in a critical condition following the crash last Friday and died at around 10.30pm.

Details of the collision

According to police, Kombos was travelling as a passenger on a motorcycle driven by a 23-year-old when, under circumstances still under investigation, the motorcycle collided with the rear of a car driven by a 20-year-old.

Helmet use and investigation

Authorities said both the rider and passenger were not wearing protective helmets at the time of the collision. Police said Kombos remained in hospital in a critical condition until his death.
