Clear skies and temperatures up to 40C forecast for Friday

Nicosia, Cyprus. Friday is expected to be mostly clear, with increased cloud cover in some areas during the early afternoon and isolated showers possible in the higher mountains.

Temperatures are forecast to reach 40C inland, while mostly clear weather is expected to continue through the weekend and on Monday.

Friday forecast

Temperatures will rise to around 31C on the southwest and west coasts, 34C on the remaining coasts and 30C in the higher mountains.

Winds will blow mainly from the southwest to northwest at up to 4 Beaufort, later increasing locally to strong winds of up to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough.

Night conditions

The weather will remain mainly clear overnight. Light fog or mist may develop later and during the early morning hours, mainly in eastern areas and inland.

Temperatures will fall to 22C inland, around 23C on the coast and 18C in the higher mountains. Winds will be mild, mainly northwesterly to northeasterly, at up to 4 Beaufort, while the sea will remain slightly rough.

Weekend outlook

Mostly clear weather is expected over the weekend and on Monday.
