Columbia Group appoints Andreas Hadjipetrou as CEO and Demetris Chrysostomou as deputy CEO

Nicosia, Cyprus. Columbia Group has appointed Andreas Hadjipetrou as its new Chief Executive Officer, with Demetris Chrysostomou named Deputy Chief Executive Officer, the company said.

Appointments and transition

Hadjipetrou, a longstanding member of the organisation, has been with Columbia for nearly 30 years and most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer. The group said his appointment brings deep operational knowledge, strong leadership and continuity to the role.

Chrysostomou is expected to further strengthen Columbia’s leadership team and support its expanding presence in Asia, the company said. Columbia added that the transition reflects its succession planning, as well as its focus on stability, continuity and long-term growth.

Focus on people and clients

Columbia said both Hadjipetrou and Chrysostomou are recognised for close relationships with clients, a commitment to people and hands-on understanding of the business. It added that its seafarers and shore-based teams remain at the centre of its operations.

“Columbia group’s strength has always been built on its people, both ashore and at sea,” the company said, adding that their wellbeing, development and performance continue to be a key priority. It also said clients remain central to its work, with a focus on delivering consistent, high-quality service.

Acknowledgement of outgoing executive

Columbia said it thanked Mark O’Neil for his contribution during his tenure and wished him all the best for the future.
