The department of antiquities said the closures apply to the archaeological sites of Curium and Apollo Hylates, Kolossi Castle and the Archaeological Curium Museum.

Drone incidents near Akrotiri

The announcement follows uncertainty after two drones heading towards the Akrotiri British base were intercepted at lunchtime on Monday. Around 12 hours earlier, a drone hit the runway at Akrotiri, causing limited damage but the evacuation of nearby civilians and the removal of non essential personnel from the base.
