Nicosia, Cyprus. Construction material prices in Cyprus rose by 3.39 per cent in August compared with the same month of 2025, according to figures released by the Statistical Service (Cystat). The overall index recorded a marginal monthly increase of 0.07 per cent.

The price index of construction materials reached 123.09 units in August, with 2021 as the base year set at 100.

During the first eight months of the year, construction material prices were 2.06 per cent higher than in the corresponding period of 2025.

Metallic products

Metallic products recorded one of the largest annual increases among the five main categories, rising by 4.6 per cent year on year.

The metallic products index stood at 111.60 units after declining by 0.19 per cent from July. Prices were 2.52 per cent higher during the January-to-August period than a year earlier.

Products made from aluminium and other metals reached 124.26 units. Their prices fell by 0.14 per cent during the month but were 5.99 per cent higher year on year and 4.63 per cent higher during the first eight months.

Iron and steel products fell by 0.22 per cent from July to 106.01 units. However, prices remained 3.90 per cent higher annually and 1.47 per cent above their average level in the January-to-August period of 2025.

Wood, insulation, chemicals and plastics

Prices for wood products, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics reached 125.81 units, rising by 0.02 per cent from July, 4.6 per cent year on year and 2.85 per cent during the first eight months.

Plastic products recorded the strongest annual increase within the group, rising by 6.58 per cent to 132.48 units. Prices were unchanged from July, while the increase during the January-to-August period reached 5.14 per cent.

Wood products stood at 127.79 units, down 0.01 per cent from July. They were nevertheless 5.11 per cent more expensive than in August 2025 and 2.88 per cent higher during the first eight months.
