Cyprus exceeds EU average for online event ticket purchases in 2025

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus recorded an above-average rate of online event ticket purchases in 2025, according to Eurostat figures released on Tuesday. Some 34.1 per cent of people in Cyprus bought tickets online during the three months preceding the annual survey.

Across the European Union, 26.8 per cent of people purchased event tickets online during the three-month reference period in 2025.

The figure was 3.8 percentage points higher than in 2024, according to Eurostat’s survey on information and communication technology usage in households and by individuals.

The data covers online purchases for events including festivals, concerts and other entertainment activities.

Member state comparisons

Ireland recorded the highest share among EU member states, with 51.5 per cent of people purchasing event tickets online during the previous three months.

The Netherlands followed with 48.1 per cent, while Denmark recorded 47.9 per cent.

Cyprus also exceeded Greece, where 38.9 per cent of people reported buying event tickets online during the same period. Turkey recorded a share of 6.2 per cent among neighbouring non-EU countries included in the comparison.
