Limassol, Cyprus. Completed property transfers across Cyprus totalled €3.72 billion in January–September 2026, while deposited sales contracts increased by 14 per cent from a year earlier, figures released by the Real Estate Agents Registration Council showed.

Transactions build on 2025 performance

The council’s analysis of data from the department of lands and surveys showed continued expansion in property activity after a strong 2025.

Nationwide, 14,969 sales contracts were deposited during the nine-month period, compared with 13,173 a year earlier. Completed transfers increased by approximately 4.1 per cent in number, while their combined value grew by 6.6 per cent.

Limassol retained its standing as the country’s highest-value property market, recording completed transfers totalling €1.44bn over the same period.

Council highlights demand and development prospects

Council president Marinos Kyneyirou said the property sector had continued contributing to economic growth in Cyprus despite the particular challenges it faced this year. He described the gains in transaction numbers and values as especially significant because they followed the sector’s already strong performance in 2025.

According to Kyneyirou, demand among local and foreign purchasers remained high, with all indicators suggesting a positive outcome for the sector in 2026.

He also welcomed the growth in deposited contracts, saying it indicated that market activity would continue and new development projects would begin in the months ahead.

Buyers and tenants urged to remain cautious

The council president nevertheless repeated the council’s advice that prospective purchasers and tenants should take care when selecting estate agents and report those operating illegally.
