Cyprus skater Olivia Bazlova earns consecutive top-10 Junior Grand Prix finishes
Olivia Bazlova, 13, placed seventh in Ljubljana and eighth in Gdańsk during her debut season in the ISU junior category.
Limassol, Cyprus. Olivia Bazlova, 13, has achieved back-to-back top-10 placings in the ISU Junior Grand Prix series. Her performances mark one of Cyprus’s most notable recent achievements in international women’s skating at junior level.
Two strong international results
Bazlova took seventh place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, scoring 163.84 points, before placing eighth in Gdańsk, Poland, with 166.03 points. Each competition featured 35 other skaters.
The results came during her debut season in the ISU junior category.
Training in Cyprus
Bazlova has been living in Cyprus since she was a young child and trains in Limassol.
Her finishes are especially significant for Cyprus, where limited facilities for training on ice present substantial difficulties for figure skating. Despite those constraints, her results demonstrate that young competitors from smaller countries can succeed internationally.
