Cyprus weather to turn unsettled inland and in mountains before clearing through midweek

Nicosia, Cyprus. Low clouds and fine mist affected many areas on Monday morning before skies cleared, while isolated showers and possible thunderstorms with hail were forecast for inland areas and the mountains later in the day.

Monday conditions

Clouds are expected to form from early afternoon, bringing isolated showers and possibly thunderstorms with hail inland and in the mountains.

Winds will blow from the southwest to northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort, strengthening later to 4 to 5 Beaufort. Seas will be moderate.

Temperatures will rise to 34C inland, 30C on the coast and 24C in the highest mountains.

Overnight outlook

Monday night will be mainly clear, with low clouds in some areas and fine mist forming towards dawn.

Winds will shift from northwest to northeast at 3 Beaufort. Seas will be slight to moderate.

Temperatures will fall to 19C inland and on the coast, and to 14C in the highest mountains.

Midweek forecast

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be generally clear, with temperatures remaining above the seasonal average.
