Defence Ministry and Keve sign crisis planning cooperation agreement
The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation on crisis management, business resilience and national security planning.

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Defence Ministry and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) signed a cooperation agreement on Monday to strengthen crisis management and identify private businesses considered critical to defence and security.
The memorandum was signed by Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas and Keve chairman Stavros Stavrou.
Framework for crisis planning
The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation on crisis planning and national security by establishing a framework between Keve and the Central Civil Emergency Planning Service (Kypsea).
It provides for training Keve members in crisis management, as well as joint initiatives, studies and research intended to improve the resilience of businesses and Cyprus more broadly.
Role of the chamber
Keve said it has been a longstanding state partner on matters concerning the economy, growth and national resilience, and participates in contingency planning as a link between the public and private sectors.
According to Keve, the memorandum expands its cooperation with the Defence Ministry, which has included joint initiatives to strengthen national resilience, support Cypriot businesses and use local industry and innovation for the Republic’s defence and security.
