The Sovereign Base Areas confirmed that a post-mortem examination conducted on Monday established drowning as the cause of death.
“We are saddened to confirm the tragic death of an Egyptian national at Lady’s Mile Beach on August 15,” the SBA said.

Incident at sea

An eyewitness told the news outlet that the man’s mobile phone fell into the sea and he dived into the water to retrieve it. He was reportedly seen floating unconscious shortly afterwards.
People aboard the catamaran pulled him from the water and attempted to provide first aid, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Second man rescued
A second person, reported to be a Jordanian national, also got into difficulty during the incident. He received immediate first aid and regained consciousness, according to the same report.
