Nicosia, Cyprus. Young people in Cyprus live with their parents until the age of 27 on average, compared with an EU average of 26, according to updated Eurostat data released for International Youth Day.

The survey covered people aged 15 to 29, who account for approximately 17 per cent of Cyprus’ population.


Employment and education

In Cyprus, 55.2 per cent of young people said they were employed, above the EU average of 49.1 per cent.

Youth unemployment fell from 24.5 per cent in 2015 to 9.3 per cent in 2025.

The survey found that 30.6 per cent of young people in Cyprus held higher education qualifications.

Digital participation and wellbeing

In 2025, 27.4 per cent of young people in Cyprus attended online courses, while 21 per cent reported digital skills above the basic level.

Social media use stood at 99.3 per cent, the highest rate across the EU.

Young people surveyed in Cyprus reported an average life satisfaction score of 7.7 out of 10.
