Motorcycle rallies and memorial events mark 30 years since Isaak and Solomou killings
Motorcyclists across government-controlled Cyprus will join rallies and memorial events in Paralimni for Tasos Isaak and Solomos Solomou.

Paralimni, Cyprus. Motorcycle rallies from cities across the government-controlled areas will take place on Saturday as events marking 30 years since the killings of Tasos Isaak and Solomos Solomou conclude. The rallies will be held under the slogan “guided by memory, with freedom as our compass”.
Memorial event
A main memorial event is scheduled for 8pm at the Isaak-Solomou monument on Nikou Psara Street in Paralimni.
It is being organised jointly by Paralimni-Deryneia Municipality and the Isaak-Solomou Memory Initiative and will be broadcast live on RIK2.
Call for justice
The initiative said the event aims to convey messages received by motorcyclists during a journey through Greece in July. It will also repeat its call for justice and for arrest warrants against those wanted over the killings of Isaak and Solomou to be executed.
The initiative said preserving the pair’s memory is linked to the struggle to return to the occupied areas, with Kyrenia identified as the destination of every march.
Sunday memorial service
Following the Saturday evening event, motorcyclists will spend the night at the Deryneia checkpoint before attending the 30th annual memorial service on Sunday, August 9.
The service will take place at the Church of Agios Dimitrios in Paralimni.
