Orange weather warning issued as inland temperatures near 44C

Nicosia, Cyprus. An orange weather warning for exceptionally high temperatures is in force on Thursday, with inland areas expected to reach around 44C.

Warning period and forecast

The warning, issued by the Met Office, will remain in effect from 12pm until 5pm.

Maximum temperatures are forecast to reach approximately 44C inland and around 33C in the highest mountainous areas.
