Platres, Cyprus. The Platres Chocolate Festival will take place throughout the village on October 3 and 4, offering chocolate treats, workshops, music and dancing. The weekend event in the Limassol district runs from 10am to 7pm, with free admission.


Saturday programme

Saturday’s programme begins at 11am with welcome speeches and a chocolate workshop led by TV chef Chryso Lefou. Traditional dances by the Diplogefyro dance group follow at 11.30am, while face painting and glitter tattoos will be available for young visitors in the afternoon.

The programme also includes a live link with Zenith FM and a live performance by singer Nikos Christodoulou from 5pm onwards.

Throughout the day, visitors can visit the chocolate photo booth and stalls selling a variety of chocolate treats.

Sunday activities

Sunday’s programme begins at 9am with a walk through the narrow streets and nature trails of Platres. Music, traditional dancing and chocolate workshops will follow, along with a children’s mosaic workshop at 3pm.

In the afternoon, two musicians will perform a programme ranging from rembetiko to contemporary Greek folk music to close the weekend.
