Police seek 54-year-old man over alleged theft of jewellery worth nearly €10 million

Limassol, Cyprus. Police are searching for a 54-year-old man following a complaint alleging the theft of jewellery worth nearly €10 million. The complaint was filed with Limassol police on Tuesday.

Complaint filed

The owner of a foreign jewellery company told police that he had handed over jewellery valued at €9.882 million to the suspect for sale to potential buyers.

Previous cooperation

Police said the two men had reportedly worked together in the past.

Missed meeting

A meeting had been arranged for Monday evening for the suspect to provide an update on the sales. Police said he did not attend the meeting and could not be contacted despite repeated efforts.

Arrest warrant issued

Following the complaint, police secured a court warrant for the man’s arrest.
