Six suspects due in Famagusta court over alleged kidnapping

Famagusta, Cyprus. Six suspects are expected to appear before the Famagusta district court on Saturday over their alleged involvement in the kidnapping of a 20-year-old earlier this week.

The suspects were arrested on court warrants on Friday, while police investigations remain ongoing.

Alleged incident

According to police, the incident took place on the evening of July 29, when the 20-year-old complainant allegedly met a group of people at a location in the Famagusta district.

Police said the individuals allegedly demanded money from him and threatened him.

Arrests and investigation

The suspects allegedly placed the complainant in a car, drove him to an unknown location and released him shortly afterwards at another location in the Famagusta district.

Those arrested include three 19-year-olds, a 20-year-old, a 26-year-old and a 27-year-old.
