The EC will evaluate the prospects of the new gas field

The European Commission will evaluate the possibilities to use the potential gas reserves, which were found under the seabed between Cyprus and Israel.

In-Cyprus reports that their aim is to shift the balance of energy used in the EU and to getting rid of the energy isolation of the island.

However, it is too early to estimate the amount of available gas, however the Commission has assured that it will be watching the development of the situation around the gas field very closely.
