Three 18-year-olds arrested over serious assault in Famagusta district

Nicosia, Cyprus. Police arrested three 18-year-olds in the early hours of Monday in connection with the serious assault of a 47-year-old man in Famagusta district. The victim remains intubated and in critical condition at Nicosia general hospital.

Arrests and court proceedings

The three suspects were arrested on court warrants and taken into custody to assist with investigations into a case of grievous bodily harm, police said in a statement.

They are expected to appear before Famagusta district court later on Monday for the issuance of remand orders.

Ongoing investigation

According to the police communications branch, the arrests were made during the early hours of Monday as part of an ongoing investigation into the assault, which occurred on Sunday in Famagusta district.

The 47-year-old victim remains hospitalised in a critical condition.

Investigations by the Famagusta criminal investigation department are continuing.
