Moscow, Russia. Ukraine launched 620 drones at Moscow and surrounding areas into the early hours of Tuesday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said, in one of Kyiv’s largest air assaults on the region.

Russian-controlled Crimea also reported heavy attacks and power outages after overnight drone strikes.

Moscow region attacks

Sobyanin said Russian forces downed 180 drones over the Moscow region and emergency services were working at crash sites. He did not provide details on casualties or damage.

Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said drones hit a warehouse belonging to Russian e-commerce company Wildberries and other facilities near Moscow.

At least three people, including a 10-year-old girl, were injured in the region, Vorobyov said.

Wildberries said drone debris struck a wall at its warehouse, causing minor damage. The company has been a frequent target of Ukrainian attacks since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Power outages in Crimea

Several other Russian-controlled regions, including Crimea, which Moscow annexed in 2014, also reported heavy Ukrainian attacks.

Krymenergo, Crimea’s largest power supplier, said southern districts of the peninsula came under Ukrainian drone attacks overnight.

Several settlements were cut off from electricity supplies, it said, adding that power deliveries remained challenging in north-western, eastern and southern parts of the region.
