Taranto, Italy. Bogdan Zabelinskiy won Cyprus’ first medal at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, taking silver in the men’s individual cycling time trial.


Cycling silver

Zabelinskiy completed the 17-kilometre course in 20:14.14.

Portugal’s Tiago Gomes Antunes won gold in 20:05.95, while compatriot Rafael Ferreira Reis claimed bronze, finishing half a second behind Zabelinskiy.

Andreas Miltiades placed 12th in the same event with a time of 21:47.44.

Women’s cycling and swimming results

In the women’s individual cycling time trial, three-time Olympian Andri Christoforou finished 11th among 17 competitors in 25:12.55.

In swimming, Kalia Antoniou finished fourth in the women’s 50m butterfly. She qualified for the final in 26.78 and recorded a personal best of 26.41 in the evening race.
