About the company
UCLan Cyprus is the first and, as yet, only international branch of the University of Central Lancashire, based in Preston in the north of the UK. The university opened its doors to its first Cypriot students in October 2012.
UCLan Cyprus is the first university in Cyprus to offer British degrees not only at undergraduate level but also at postgraduate level.
The main advantages of the university in Cyprus are that the Cypriot curriculum is fully aligned with the British curriculum. Furthermore, all assessments and pre-exam work completed by Cypriot students are marked at the main campus in the UK.
The modern university campus is situated in Pyla, 20 km from Larnaca and 3 km from the island’s popular beach at Dhekelia. UCLan is ranked amongst the world’s top 200 universities (QS World Rankings, 2012), offering students over 300 undergraduate degree programmes and over 200 postgraduate programmes.
UCLan is a recognised leader in teaching programmes in journalism, business and criminology. The university’s programmes in pharmacy, architecture and astrophysics are also particularly popular. During the summer, UCLan, in partnership with the Malvern House language school, offers specialised IELTS preparation courses for young people aged 15 to 21, with 30 hours of tuition per week, held on the Pyle campus.

Tuition fees and scholarships
EU students, Bachelor’s degree
€7,900 – annual tuition fees (original fee €9,950, discount of €2,050).
International students, Bachelor’s degree
€7,900 – annual tuition fees (original fee €9,950, discount of €2,050).
Students, Master’s degree
€8,200 – tuition fees for the programme (original fee €10,500, discount of €2,300).
Scholarships, undergraduate programmes
50% off the first year’s tuition fees. A Cypriot school leaving certificate with a grade of 18.5/20 or higher (or an equivalent mark on a similar certificate), or 92.5%, or 300 A-level points.
Conditions for receiving scholarships for undergraduate students
- Scholarships for undergraduate students may be retained in subsequent years of study provided that the average mark across all subjects is 70 per cent or a minimum of 60 per cent in each subject.
The scholarship is calculated as a percentage of the full tuition fee; for example, a partial (50%) scholarship is 50% of €9,950 = €4,975.
Scholarships for Master’s students
UCLan Cyprus offers scholarships and discounts to Master’s students based on their academic performance. Scholarships for Master’s students are available to both full-time and part-time students. Scholarship holders at UCLan must perform well academically, and their conduct and academic performance must set an example for other students. They should actively participate in classroom discussions and strive to create a positive, intellectually stimulating learning environment.
