The weather in Cyprus

The weather in Cyprus consists of 340 days of sunshine a year, a cold and rainy winter with an average temperature of 10–14 degrees, and a very hot summer reaching +40–45, water temperatures reach up to 28 degrees in summer and +17 degrees during the coldest winter months.

The most comfortable months for a holiday in Cyprus are May, June, July, September and October.

If you’re visiting Cyprus in July and August – usually having booked a last-minute holiday to Cyprus – be prepared for a truly ‘scorching’ summer 🙂

The sun is quite intense, and it’s very easy to get sunburnt in just a few minutes. At night, it can be difficult to sleep without air conditioning.

Tourists visiting Cyprus in winter – be prepared for very cold nights and warm days.

There is no central heating in Cyprus, so permanent residents keep warm using air conditioning, electric heaters and extra blankets.

In summer, everything in Cyprus dries out, whilst in winter it turns green thanks to the amount of rain.
