About the company

The ‘Angara’ School of the Arts opened around The ‘Angara’ Russian School20 years ago, in 2001.

Initially, the school operated as a dance studio, but in 2004 it began operating as an arts school.

The school currently operates as an arts school where every child can find a class to suit them.

The Angara Russian School is a close-knit team of teachers who approach their work not only with a high level of professionalism, but also with love and dedication, striving to inspire the children and pass on their knowledge and skills.

The art school carefully preserves Slavic traditions and regularly organises cultural events for the Russian-speaking community in Cyprus.

The student body and teaching staff are multinational, yet they are all united by the Russian language, in which lessons are conducted. Even those children with only a limited knowledge of the language quickly become part of an active Russian-speaking environment!

The art school accepts all applicants without any preliminary selection, as the school’s management seeks to build its reputation not by working exclusively with gifted children, but through high-quality teaching and the effective organisation of the educational process.

The school’s teachers are convinced that every pupil possesses talent; they recognise the uniqueness and giftedness of each child, as well as the need for an individualised approach to unlock and further develop their abilities.

The management and teaching staff encourage pupils to demonstrate curiosity, independence and intellectual ability. The main aim is to give children the opportunity to acquire as much knowledge as they wish, to teach them what interests them, and to help them make the right choices.

It is The ‘Angara’ Russian Schoolvery important that, over a period of time – which will be ‘unique’ to each child – every child will develop an ability for creative self-expression, broaden their horizons, develop and refine their taste, and cultivate a positive attitude towards creative activity.

The ‘Angara’ School of Arts strives to foster the harmonious development of its pupils within the multilingual Cypriot environment, which lays the foundation for a positive outlook on life and self-esteem, as well as well-rounded personal development.

The school opens after lessons have finished at general education schools teaching in English, Russian and Greek, from 1 pm to 8 pm, six days a week (except Sundays). To enhance the effectiveness of the educational process, some sessions are scheduled for the morning. The children are taught by a creative team of qualified teachers who have specialist qualifications, training and extensive experience of working with children. To ensure the all-round development of the children, the lyceum has developed two main programmes: ‘Rainbow’ (for children aged 3 to 6) and a programme for children aged 6 and over.
