Ayia Napa requires more video surveillanca

The mayor of Ayia Napa Mr. Yiannis Karoussos declared that in order to maximize security at the resort, it is necessary to install more video surveillance cameras. However this has to be approved by the Community Council first.

According to CypLive, the video cameras will be installed at the entrance and exit point to the town, as well as at the municipal parking places.

Mr. Karoussos also added that similar measures are implements in various other countries is a preventive measure, which also help the police to get the required data very quickly. The mayor suggested that the Ministry of Justice should finance the project.
