The security service of the Ercan International Airport are on alert due to the threat of the explosions.
According to local media, On Sunday at 22:45 the flight of Pegasus Airlines arrived from Istanbul and right after landing, three passengers have declared that they have bombs.
The cabin crew immediately informed the civil aviation and airport authorities.
Police arrived to the aircraft and arrested those three passengers before the other passengers left the aircraft.
The thorough serach has been carried out, however it is still unclear whether there really were bombs or it was a silly joke.
After the incident, all other flights were delayed and numerous passengers were forced to remain in the airport until early morning.
