Cohabitation of Muslims and Christians in Cyprus

Шон Кейси

The U.S. Special Representative for Religion and Global Affairs Dr. Shaun Casey has stated that Cyprus may become a role-model country in the issue of cohabitation of Muslims and Christians.

He pointed out that during his short visit to Cyprus, he was impressed by the political leaders, who are working hard in order to find the solution to the issues in the area of management, distribution of power, ownership rights and economics.

He also was astonished by the loyalty and dedicated work of the religious leaders, who are condemning any sort of violence and are trying to build relationship with respect to each other.

Dr. Casey belives that the Cyprus problem never became a Religious conflict.

This is supported by the reaction of Greek-Cypriots to the arson of the Deniya mosque last month.
