Court rules to deport seven Syrian migrants

It turned out that migrants had already been deported from Cyprus earlier, and now again illegally crossed country’s border. The remaining 78 refugees from the boat were sent to a special center.

A few days ago, a group of 85 Syrian refugees arrived on the island on a 10-meter long boat. They were received by the employees of the Department of Civil Defense and Social Services, as well as representatives of the Red Cross near to Pomos village.

According to the Department of Migration, refugees are considering Cyprus as a “transit point” to other European countries. At the same time, a number of migrants planning to remain in the country for permanent residence has increased.

As reported earlier, in Cyprus refugees receive an allowance of 320 euro per month, including coupons for food amounting to 150 euro per person.
