As part of the EURO-2017 qualifiers, the players of the Turkey and Cyprus U21 national teams started a mass fight. As far as the game is concerned – Cyprus won 0:1.
According to the Turkish side, the Cypriot players were celebrating their victory in a very emotional way, which led to the ethnic abuse, which provoked the large-scale conflict. Turkish players obviously did not like that and they started the “prison rules’ fight.
The players were stopped only by 6 red cards and a large number of bruises. Nevertheless, the Cypriot team got the 3 points as the victorious team.
