Cyprus business groups stress stability and investment safety amid regional developments

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Employers and Industrialists Federation said Cyprus remains a safe and reliable destination for international investment, business activity and quality tourism after reviewing regional developments. Pasika urged responsible public statements, while TechIsland announced a new professional community for tech experts.

Oev highlights stability and economic resilience

The Employers and Industrialists Federation (Oev) said on Thursday that maintaining stability, security and the smooth functioning of the economy is a top priority and a collective responsibility for the country.
The federation said the resilience of the Cypriot economy has been tested in recent years under extremely adverse conditions and has proven strong institutionally, operationally and organisationally against crises and geopolitical upheaval.
Oev said sectors linked to tourism and companies exporting to Gulf countries and the wider Middle East, including pharmaceutical industries, are currently facing challenges.

Pasika calls for restraint in public messaging

The Cyprus hospitality venues association (Pasika) called for greater responsibility in public statements, particularly on social media, warning against posts that fuel unjustified panic or serve propaganda efforts that could harm Cyprus’ economy and hospitality sector.
Pasika said responsibility and composure are more necessary than ever, adding that exaggerated public debate and the ease of online expression risk creating a distorted picture of the situation.
The association said irresponsibility, immaturity and a misreading of events were fostering a negative climate that does not reflect reality, and stated that Cyprus remains a safe country despite regional tensions.

TechIsland launches TechPro Community

TechIsland, Cyprus’ largest tech association, announced the launch of the TechIsland TechPro Community powered by The Vault, a new professional community for tech experts.
TechIsland said the initiative responds to a growing need for trusted dialogue among technology professionals as technology, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity increasingly shape business operations and societies.
The TechPro Community is under the TechIsland umbrella and is intended for technology professionals working at the forefront of the tech and innovation sector in Cyprus.

How do you assess the impact of public messaging on Cyprus’ tourism and investment climate?
