Nicosia, Cyprus. The 17th Annual Exhibition of the Cyprus Cactus and other Succulents Society will take place at Acropolis Park on May 10. The event will run from 10am to 7pm and includes a plant showcase, competition, marketplace and educational material.
Exhibition at Caves Exhibition Hall
The exhibition will be held in the park’s Caves Exhibition Hall, where visitors can view rare and collectable cacti and succulents cultivated by the society’s members. The society said its members’ experience is reflected in the quality of the plants on display.
Plant Competition and judge
A traditional Plant Competition will be held alongside the exhibition. This year’s judge is Dr Andreas Laras, a member of the Hellenic Society of Cacti and Other Succulents, a collector and a researcher of Mexican cacti.
Outdoor marketplace
An outdoor marketplace will feature cacti and succulents from nurseries and growers across Cyprus, as well as collectable plants, handmade pots and related products.
Booklet distribution and gardening guidance
The society will distribute free copies of the eight-page booklet The Smart Garden, produced in collaboration with the Environment Commissioner. The booklet provides guidance on using succulents in Cypriot gardens.
