Cyprus construction material price index rises in March, Cystat reports

Nicosia, Cyprus. Construction material prices in Cyprus rose in March, with the price index recording both monthly and annual increases, according to the state statistical service, Cystat. The index reached 119.91 units, based on 2021 as the benchmark year set at 100 units.


Monthly and annual movements

Cystat reported that the index increased by 0.52 per cent compared with the previous month. On an annual basis, it rose by 0.93 per cent compared with March 2025.

Changes by commodity category

Electromechanical products recorded the largest year-on-year increase, rising by 2.44 per cent. Products of wood, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics increased by 1.44 per cent, while minerals rose by 1.40 per cent.

Metallic products recorded a more moderate increase of 0.46 per cent, and mineral products edged up by 0.04 per cent.

First-quarter trend

For the first quarter of 2026, covering January to March, the index rose by 0.87 per cent compared with the same period of 2025.
