Cyprus deposit rates remain below eurozone average in June 2026

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus banks offered average deposit rates below the eurozone level in June 2026, while rates varied significantly between individual credit institutions, according to a Central Bank of Cyprus report published on Wednesday.


Household deposits

The average rate on household fixed-term deposits of up to one year was 1.42 per cent in Cyprus, compared with 2.03 per cent across the eurozone.

Ancoria Bank offered the highest rate at 1.66 per cent, followed by National Bank of Greece (Cyprus) at 1.64 per cent. Eurobank Limited offered 1.51 per cent, Alpha Bank Cyprus 1.39 per cent and the Cyprus Development Bank 1.35 per cent.

Societe Generale Bank Cyprus offered 1.12 per cent, while the Bank of Cyprus offered 0.96 per cent and the Housing Finance Corporation 0.84 per cent.

Corporate deposits

For non-financial corporations placing fixed-term deposits of up to one year, the average rate in Cyprus was 1.41 per cent, below the eurozone average of 2.19 per cent.

Alpha Bank Cyprus offered the highest rate in this category at 2.05 per cent. National Bank of Greece (Cyprus) followed with 1.73 per cent, Ancoria Bank with 1.60 per cent, Eurobank Limited with 1.43 per cent and the Cyprus Development Bank with 1.27 per cent.

The Bank of Cyprus offered 1.16 per cent, Societe Generale Bank Cyprus 0.99 per cent and the Housing Finance Corporation 0.43 per cent.

Lending rate differences

The CBC said differences between credit institutions reached up to two percentage points in some lending categories, reflecting differing pricing strategies among banks operating in Cyprus.
