Cyprus Public Transport to raise Nicosia and Larnaca bus fares on August 3

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus Public Transport will raise bus fares in Nicosia and Larnaca on August 3, including fares for urban, rural and discounted ticket options.

The standard daytime urban ticket will increase from €2.40 to €2.70, while annual tickets for school students will remain at €30.


Urban ticket changes

Nighttime one-way tickets, valid from 9pm, will rise from €4.20 to €4.70.

For Motion card holders, daytime fares will increase from €1.80 to €2, while nighttime fares will rise from €2.60 to €3.50.

Previous fare increases

Current daytime fares were introduced in September 2023, when the standard daytime urban ticket rose from €2 to €2.40.

Nighttime fares were most recently increased on March 1, from €4 to €4.20. Before September 2023, the nighttime fare was €3.50.

Rural and discounted fares

Rural route fares will increase from 60 cents to 70 cents.

Fares for weekly, monthly, annual and other discounted ticket options will also rise, except for annual school student tickets, which will remain at €30.

Other bus systems

No fare changes have been announced for separate bus systems in Paphos, Limassol, Ayia Napa and Protaras. Each currently charges €2 for a standard daytime one-way ticket.
